Prime minister appeals for strong voter turnout in EP elections

Prime Minister Donald Tusk renewed his appeal to the Poles to take part in the May 25 elections to the European Parliament. He argued that low turnout could damage Poland's interests in the EU.

"I would like to ask everyone, regardless of their political views, to vote in these elections," PM Tusk said on Polish Radio One on Wednesday.

"(Poland's) effective actions in Europe will decide about our citizens' money and their rights. Even if someone does not like professional politicians (...) it is worth stopping to think whether it is worth risking our money and our rights in Europe. I do not think it is worth taking such a risk," the prime minister explained. (PAP)
