Jedna osoba poniosła w środę śmierć a pięć zostało rannych w rezultacie ostrzelania przypadkowych osób w stanie Arizona - poinformowała policja. Podejrzany o dokonanie tych zamachów sprawca został, po obławie, zatrzymany.
"Jak na razie jest sześć ofiar, z których jedna zmarła. Jeden z rannych jest w stanie krytycznym" - powiedział Esteban Flores, rzecznik policji w Mesa, jednym z przedmieść Phoenix, stolicy stanu.
Dodał, że podejrzany został ujęty po użyciu wobec niego paralizatora (tasera).
Ok. 40-letni sprawca miał otwierać ogień do przypadkowych osób w co najmniej czterech różnych miejscach, z których uciekał samochodem, jak się później okazało, skradzionym. W końcu, po pięciogodzinnej obławie, policja osaczyła go w jednym z domów w Mesa.
Według lokalnej stacji telewizyjnej 12 News TV, mężczyzna miał na sobie tatuaże z symbolami "wyższości białej rasy". (PAP)
