The Metropolitan Alliance for Police (MAP) announced that they have endorsed Donna More for Cook County State’s Attorney. MAP represents over 4,000 sworn police officers and other police-related employees who maintain full or part time employment with any state, county, or municipal agency.
The MAP Board unanimously voted to support More saying that her qualifications and achievements set her apart from the other candidates in the Democrat primary on March 15.
“We believe that Ms. More will professionally serve the needs of her constituents and that she will treat everyone fairly and justly as the lead prosecutor of the Cook County,” said Raymond Violetto, MAP’s Director of the Board.
“Prosecution is a key part of law enforcement,” Violetto said. “The community needs to know that the chief prosecutor will use her office to help lead the fight to reduce crime. Donna is the one candidate in the race who sees her role as a leader in the criminal justice system and is willing to work with other law enforcement agencies to get the job done.”
More is a former state and federal prosecutor who is running for office for the first time. She has promised to restore the integrity of the State’s Attorney’s Office by changing its culture to one that values justice over conviction rates. She also has plans for reducing gun violence and taking a more aggressive stance against public corruption.
“MAP’s endorsement of my campaign is an honor,” More said. “Police officers in Cook County put their lives on the line every day to protect our citizens. We are allies for public safety and I’ll work with police organizations all across the County to make sure that we prosecute crime no matter who commits it.”
