The State Electoral Commission (PKW) has said that by noon, almost 15 percent of eligible voters had turned out to vote in the 10 May presidential elections.
The election sees eleven candidates run for the presidential office.
In order to win in the first round a single candidate must attain more than 50 percent of the vote. If this is not the case, the election enters a second round with the two candidates who obtained most votes. The second round would take place on 24 May.
Polling stations around the country opened at 7.00 am local time, and will remain open until 9.00 pm.
We at Radio Poland will keep you informed as the day progresses, with turnout statistics and more.
We will also have a live broadcast at 10.00 pm CET with exit polls. (rg)
