As many as 30 people died and 301 were injured in 229 accidents on Polish roads during the Christmas holidays.
According to the Central Police HQ in Warsaw, the most tragic day on Polish roads during the three-day Christmas period (Dec. 24-26) was Christmas Eve, with 18 people dying in 113 accidents.
Police have raised their game during this Yuletide, with unmarked cars using video cameras to register traffic incidents and heightened controls to check drivers’ sobriety and vehicles’ mechanincal conditions.
