Kanclerz Niemiec Angela Merkel i prezydent Francji Francois Hollande zareagowali we wtorek ze spokojem na zapowiedź greckiego premiera Aleksisa Ciprasa zacieśnienia współpracy z Rosją, bagatelizując znaczenie jego wizyty na początku kwietnia w Moskwie.
"My też byliśmy w Moskwie, a pomimo tego pozostaliśmy członkami Unii Europejskiej i zabiegamy o utrzymanie europejskiej solidarności" - powiedziała Merkel, poproszona po spotkaniu z Hollande'em w Berlinie przez dziennikarzy o ocenę planów premiera Grecji.
Niemiecka kanclerz wyjaśniła, że rozmowy Grecji z przedstawicielami instytucji w minionych dniach można uznać za "początek procesu, który jeszcze się nie zakończył". "Musimy je kontynuować" - dodała Merkel, podkreślając, że Grecja musi dotrzymać przyjętych zobowiązań, choć nowy rząd "ma prawo do modyfikacji". "Czas ucieka" - zauważyła szefowa niemieckiego rządu. Potwierdziła, że w środę odbędą się konsultacje eurogrupy na szczeblu sekretarzy stanu.
Hollande powiedział, że europejscy politycy mogą "bez żadnego problemu" składać wizyty w Moskwie. Jego zdaniem udział w "europejskim życiu" jest jedynym wyjściem dla Grecji. "Grecja wie, że Europa jest jej przeznaczeniem" - dodał prezydent Francji.
W Berlinie odbyły się niemiecko-francuskie konsultacje międzyrządowe. Przedstawiciele obu rządów rozmawiali między innymi o projekcie wspólnego drona, zdolnego zarówno do obserwacji, jak i po uzbrojeniu do zadań bojowych. Hollande podkreślił, że taki dron uniezależni UE od innych krajów. "Kto dysponuje zdjęciami, ten ma władzę" - powiedział prezydent. Hollande mówił o nowym "niemiecko-francuskim braterstwie".
Lewicowy grecki premier Aleksis Cipras zapowiedział zacieśnienie współpracy Grecji z Rosją. W opublikowanym we wtorek wywiadzie dla rosyjskiej agencji TASS powiedział, że po okresie chłodnych relacji w przeszłości dąży do "wiosny" w stosunkach dwustronnych.
Sankcje nałożone przez Zachód na Rosję za jej rolę w kryzysie ukraińskim uznał za "ślepą uliczkę". Oświadczył, że wprawdzie poprzedni rząd Grecji przyłączył się do tych "bezsensownych" działań, ale on, Cipras, powiedział przywódcom Unii Europejskiej, że to stanowisko Aten może się zmienić.
