Palestyńscy bojownicy zgodzili się na nowy, 24-godzinny rozejm humanitarny w Strefie Gazy. Przerwa w walkach ma rozpocząć się w niedzielę o godz. 14 lokalnego czasu (godz. 13 czasu polskiego) - poinformował rzecznik kontrolującego Gazę Hamasu Sami Abu Zuhri.
Z propozycją rozejmu wyszła ONZ. "W odpowiedzi na interwencję ONZ, a także biorąc pod uwagę sytuację naszych ludzi i nadchodzące święto Id al-Fitr palestyńskie ugrupowania oporu zgodziły się poprzeć 24-godzinny rozejm, który rozpocznie się o godz. 14 w niedzielę" - powiedział Zuhri agencji Reutera. Id al-Fitr, święto kończące ramadan, rozpocznie się w poniedziałek lub we wtorek.
Władze Izraela nie poinformowały na razie, czy także popierają zawieszenie broni.
Hamas odrzucił poprzedni rozejm, którego w nocy z soboty na niedzielę przestrzegał Izrael. Jednak rano wojsko izraelskie poinformowało, że wznawia swoje operacje w Strefie Gazy z powodu "nieustannego ostrzału rakietowego" ze strony Hamasu. Od niedzielnego poranka zginęło tam co najmniej siedmiu Palestyńczyków.
Według źródeł palestyńskich, podczas rozpoczętej 8 lipca izraelskiej operacji wojskowej śmierć poniosło ponad 1050 Palestyńczyków, a ponad 6 tysięcy zostało rannych. Po stronie Izraela zginęło 43 żołnierzy i trzech cywilów.(PAP)
