Google will open Campus for start-ups in Warsaw

A modern centre for technological start-ups will be opened by Google in Warsaw in the first half of 2015, Google Polska said Wednesday. The project was discussed at a meeting between Google's Eric Schmidt and PM Donald Tusk on Wednesday.

We are proud to see such a vigorous development of start-up community in Poland, Schmidt was quoted as saying in a statement released by Google Polska. We hope that the Warsaw Campus will help technological firms develop further, consolidate the start-up system and encourage innovations in Poland, he went on.

The Campus will offer 1,800 sqm of office space that can be rented by firms to hold meetings with investors, arrange premises, etc. Training and workshops will also be offered. The Google Campus will not be an investor in any start-ups.

It will be the third such center in the world, next to the London and Tel-Aviv ones. "It is one of Google's projects within the framework of innovation support programme in Poland and East-Central Europe," the statement said. (PAP)
