The Polish zloty has recently found itself among the top five world's best performing currencies, the Puls Biznesu daily reported on Monday.
Since the beginning of the year the Polish zloty (PLN) gained 4.7 percent against the U.S. dollar. Owing to this result it has placed among the top five world's best performing currencies, the daily wrote adding that the ranking covered 32 world currencies.
Thanks to Poland's current account surplus and stabilistaion in the euro zone, in the last quarter the Polish zloty climbed to a two-year high to the U.S. dollar.
Unexpectedly, the ranking is led by the Argentine peso. Currencies of the countries whose economy is based on raw materials and emerging markets placed at the ranking bottom, the daily reported.
