Foreign ministry advises against Gaza travel

Poland's foreign ministry has warned against travel in the Gaza Strip region as Israel and Hamas forces exchange fire in an escalating dispute, which killed up to 27, Tuesday, Palestinian official say.

The ministry advised against Poles travelling in the Gaza Strip and an area up to 40 kilometres to the south in Israel, as Hamas attempted to shell Te Aviv and the Israel Defence Force pounded the strip resulting in the death of a top leader of the Islamic Jihad group and five of his family members, the Palestinian Interior Ministry has said.
The Polish foreign ministry adds that Poles living in Gaza will find it impossible to return as the Erez border crossing from Egypt is closed.
“We advise against travel to East Jerusalem and the area around border crossings between Israel and the West Bank, as well as major cities in the West Bank,” the statement says after the conflict between Israel and Palestinians intensified on Tuesday after brutal murders of teenagers on both sides of the conflict.
