„I have invited President Obama in relation to the 25th anniversary of Polish freedom and the start of the whole process of Central and Eastern Europe’s liberation,” the president recalled.

„The invitation was received with interest and sympathy,” Komorowski added.

On June 4, 1989 a semi-free election took power from Poland’s communist regime. The date is considered the beginning of Poland’s post-communist existence as a free country. The Berlin Wall collapsed five months later. (PAP)
